In this module, you will learn how to recognize signs of pain or distress in farm species used for scientific purposes, namely ruminants, pigs, and domestic fowl. The module will also guide you in evaluating their welfare status and determining whether they have reached a humane endpoint. You will then be able to classify the severity of procedures and choose the most appropriate analgesia and anaesthesia.
At the end of the module, you will undergo an assessment to demonstrate your understanding of its content.
